WINE ENTHUSIAST recognises the wines from Sierra Cantabria Wineyards and Wineries
The editors of the prestigious US magazine Wine Enthusiast recently rated the latest wines produced by Marcos and Miguel Ángel Eguren in La Rioja.
The wines from the Sierra Cantabria Viñedos y Bodegas, belonging to the Eguren Family, have again received great praise from the critics, with their San Vicente 2011 and Puntido 2011 chosen for the “Editors’ Special Choice” section as fantastic values.

In this way the critics have endorsed Marcos Eguren’s enological vision of creating “new classics” that evoke their origins. In other words, they have praised the winery’s commitment to producing wines that express the nature of their land; balanced and elegant; with structure and strong fruit quality, well-intregrated wood and freshness.
The Eguren family, the proprietors of Viñedos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria, generation after generation since 1870, has been dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards and the elaboration and ageing of wines on ideal wine-growing lands in La Rioja, Toro and Castile-La Mancha. With an approach rooted in a respect for tradition, but adapted to the latest technological advances, the Egurens enjoy prestige and recognition thanks to the wines turned out by their five wineries: Sierra Cantabria, Señorío de San Vicente and Viñedos de Páganos in the La Rioja D.O. (Designation of Origin) area; Bodega Teso La Monja, in the Toro D.O.; and Dominio de Eguren, in Vinos de la Tierra.
