The Spanish critic Luis Gutiérrez, on behalf of the renowned publication Wine Advocate, has published the scores of D.O. Toro wines.
In his tasting Luis Gutiérrez commended the impressive character of the Toro wines produced by Marcos Eguren, which reflect the area’s identity and feature a fresh style, with vibrant acidity and fantastic fresh fruit.
The three wines tasted by Luis Gutiérrez garnered good reviews and high scores. Alabaster 2012 emerged as a sublime wine, with 95 points, followed by Teso La Monja 2011, with 94 points, while the tasting was rounded out by Victorino 2012, with 93+ points. With these scores Marcos and Miguel Ángel Eguren once again stand as leading drivers of the wine-growing revolution that began in 1998 when they arrived in the area. The Eguren family’s first project in Toro – Numanthia – revolutionized a wine region renowned for its potency and structure. Today Teso La Monja, marking the Eguren family’s second stage in Toro, stands at the center of this Designation’s new designs, built on the quality of its wines, with elegance and freshness.
