On its 30th anniversary the Guía Gourmets chose two wines by the Eguren family from the Sierra Cantabria to complete the publication’s honor roll.

The “Club of the 99,” as this group is widely known, presented the wines, which exhibited unique and outstanding character at the tasting, meriting the guide’s highest rating: the critics’ coveted 99 points.

This year two wines by the family earned the distinction of sharing this elite evaluation:

  • LA NIETA 2013 – 99 POINTS
  • TESO LA MONJA 2009 – 99 POINTS

The Family’s wines also received the following scores, and can be enjoyed at the Salón Gourmet, to be held in Madrid from 4-7 April 2016, in the THE BEST OF THE GUIDE area.

LOS MEJORES DE LA GÚIA.

Congratulations to the Grupo Gourmets on the 30th anniversary of its Wine Guide

30-YEARS-GUIA-GOURMET-SIERRA-CANTABRIASince its first edition was published in 1983 they have observed and reported annually on the many changes occurring in the Spanish wine industry.

A key wine reference for professionals and amateurs

Since the first edition was published in 1983, we have observed and reported annually on the many changes occurring in the Spanish wine industry.

Over the course of all these years the GVG’s philosophy has remained unchanged: we continue to believe in the system of blind tasting, according to which we evaluate wines without knowing what winery they are from, as we believe this knowledge could prejudice our assessments. In short, the independence of the Grupo Gourmets’ Tasting Committee remains intact.
