XF Sierra Cantabria is a project carried out in association with Xandra Falco – Marchioness of Mirabel.
Is a declaration of intentions by Sierra Cantabria and Xandra Falcó, an ode to life and joy, a journey full of hope.
To define the profile of the wine, several tastings have been carried out, after which Marcos and Miguel Eguren, who know their vineyards inch by inch, have made a selection of the most suitable plots for this project. Those that year after year produce the freshest and most floral grapes. The result is an extraordinary, delicate and elegant wine, with citrus and floral aromas, very round in the mouth, a hedonistic wine to enjoy.
The vineyards chosen for XF Sierra Cantabria are located on the left bank of the Ebro River, in the terms of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida. A collection of vineyards where work is done with the upmost respect for the environment, with minimal intervention and in harmony with the biorhythms of the terroir.
For the production of XF Sierra Cantabria, the harvest is carried out exclusively by hand with a rigorous selection of grapes, first in the vineyard and then in the winery by means of a double sorting table.
This production process leads to a limited edition of 15,000 bottles with a blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Viura and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
Five generations of winegrowers with roots in San Vicente de la Sonsierra have woven a long history of complicity between man and the vineyard to extract its maximum virtues, applying all the necessary efforts to transmit their expressiveness in unique wines.
Marcos Eguren, in charge of the oenological work, and Miguel Eguren, who manages as President of the Group, lead a viticultural project in search of wines that evoke the vineyard, with loads of versatility and personality. Wines that belong amongst the new classics: wines that develop favorably over time, that combine fruit, power and structure with elegance, freshness and subtlety.
Sierra Cantabria, Viñedos Sierra Cantabria, Señorío de San Vicente and Viñedos de Páganos constitute their projects in the DOCa. Rioja, to which we must add its presence in the D.O. Toro with the Teso La Monja winery. The family and wineries enjoy national and international prestige, deserving of several distinctions and awards.
