2015, February.- Sierra Cantabria winery announces the launch of Sierra Cantabria Selección 2013, the frutal expression of La Sonsierra Riojana, with a new packaging.
Proprietary vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Laguardia.
Traditional elaboration, 100% de-stemmed. 6 months in tank and 6 months in American and French oak Bordelaise barrels (age of the barrels: maximum 3 wines per barrel).
Intense ruby red. Aroma of red fruits (strawberry) in good intensity in conjunction with spice, vanilla and oak notes. On the palate it is fresh, soft, balanced, with the fruit well integrated with the notes of oak, vanilla and light toast.
Viñedos and Bodegas Sierra Cantabria is a project directed by Marcos and Miguel Eguren, whose family’s roots in the grape growing activity date back to 1870 in the Riojan Sonsierra. The company currently comprises four wineries in the DOCa Rioja – Sierra Cantabria, Viñedos Sierra Cantabria, Señorío de San Vicente and Viñedos de Páganos- and one winery in the DO Toro, Teso La Monja. With a portfolio of over 20 wines, Viñedos and Bodegas Sierra Cantabria exports to almost 50 countries on five continents, including the United States, Japan, Germany, and Switzerland as its primary markets.
