The \u20182022 Pe\u00f1\u00edn Guide\u2019 has approved the new vintages of the wines from Vi\u00f1edos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria granting top ratings, with six wines boasting scores over 95 points.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On the podium for highest scored wine, \u2018Alabaster 2018<\/strong>\u2019, from Teso La Monja – DO Toro, received 98 points<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018La Nieta 2018<\/strong>\u2019,<\/strong> from Vi\u00f1edos de P\u00e1ganos, and \u2018Finca El Bosque 2018<\/strong>\u2019, from Vi\u00f1edos Sierra Cantabria, both received 97 points<\/strong>. Following closely behind these exceptional wines are \u2018Amancio 2017<\/strong>\u2019, from Vi\u00f1edos Sierra Cantabria, and \u2018Victorino 2018<\/strong>\u2019, from Teso La Monja, both with 96 points<\/strong>. Last on the podium is \u2018San Vicente 2017<\/strong>\u2019,<\/strong> from Se\u00f1or\u00edo de San Vicente, with 95 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 94 points<\/strong>, there are two wines from the privileged Sonsierra terroir<\/em>, \u2018El Puntido 2017<\/strong>\u2019, from Vi\u00f1edos de P\u00e1ganos, and \u2018Sierra Cantabria Private Collection 2018<\/strong>\u2019 from Vi\u00f1edos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria , and form Teso La Monja \u2018Almirez 2019<\/strong>\u2019 also received 94 points<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quite close in the ranking we find four wines: \u2018Calados del Puntido 2017<\/strong>\u2019 from Vi\u00f1edos de P\u00e1ganos, \u2018Sierra Cantabria Cuv\u00e9e 2017<\/strong>\u2019, \u2018Organza 2019<\/strong>\u2019,<\/strong> both references from Vi\u00f1edos Sierra Cantabria, and \u2018Sierra Cantabria Gran Reserva 2011<\/strong>\u2019 all received 93 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without being left behind with 92 points<\/strong>: \u2018XF Sierra Cantabria 2020<\/strong>\u2019, \u2018Sierra Cantabria Reserva 2015<\/strong>\u2019, \u2018Sierra Cantabria Garnacha 2017<\/strong>\u2019 and \u2018Sierra Cantabria Crianza 2018<\/strong>\u2019 all from Sierra Cantabria winey in DOCa Rioja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five generations of winegrowers, with roots in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, have woven a long history of mutual understanding between man and vine, to extract the virtues of a unique variety, the Tempranillo, applying all of the necessary efforts to capture its expressiveness in exceptional wines of the utmost purity and rooted to the terroir<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcos Eguren, at the head of the winegrowing side of the business, and Miguel Eguren, who manages as the President of the Group, are leading a project in search of wines that evoke the vineyard, with loads of versatility and personality. Guillermo, father of the current generation that now holds the reins of the winery group, considers himself above all to be a collector of vineyards. And that is the message received by his sons, who have done an excellent job at looking after the vineyards, showing maximum respect for the fruit in the winery, with their philosophy for obtaining wines that have become modern day classics: wines that stand the test of time, that combine fruit, potency and structure with elegance, freshness and subtlety.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
